Just when you thought it was over

It was all water under the bridge...or off a ducks back...or so I thought...then, a can of dairy whip which was used for apple crumble, became the next weapon all I had for defence was left over sour cream from the nacho dinner!
A scary threat which was found at the scene of the crime

One of a series of splotches that fell by the wayside! (thanks Nins for not going rank!!)

You like that sour cream?????!

Hoping that this doesn't make my skin break out like the peanut butter did!!

I think I got whiplash.....

I have peanut butter up my nose

OK, so, months of taunting finally manifested itself..it started out very innocently: I will say this: I'm just a girl! And I'm the innocent looking one...don't you think??!

Oops..no more peanut butter
We are smiling, but that stuff is starting to crustify..eew!

Just like a beauty treatment...mm the new 'mud mask'

Someone has watched Kung Fu Panda and taken it a bit literally!!

Jase planning his next attack

"Please! No more!", the helpless girl cries.

"Hehehe", he laughs..in an evil tone..
So who started this fight? Hmm..I guess we'll never know.

We are so young...NOW!

A couple of Weeks ago I was really challenged. Everywhere I went I seemed to notice elderly people. So I thought to myself, "Hmmm, God trying to get my attention much?!"

Funny how we take so much for granted. I saw a little old lady slowly dismount from her sweet ride on buggy thing. I looked at her and wondered. What's her story? If she could tell me, I wonder what her regrets are? What did she dream for her life as a young woman? What is important to her now?
I've always had a deep respect for the elderly. People often write them off, but how awesome they are! They have lived through reccession, depressions, wars. The fact is, we have no idea how rich their life experiences have been and how much they can teach us! Wisdom.

In high school, my friend had this shirt that said: 'To be old and wise, you must first be young and stupid.' It made me chuckle to read it, but it is so not true! To make a wise decision instead of a stupid, potentially life destroying one is wise and sometimes requires taking up courage.
I don't know about you, but I want to LIVE my life. I appreciate that we all can learn from other peoples mistakes, pick up good habits, throw away bad ones. Encourage one another, and love unconditionally! That's our job. To love and to be obedient to God. In the small things that is where it starts.
I challenge you to listen out for what God is saying to you...it might be a tiny little request...do it!
And be nice to older people..they have alot to offer..find out some wisdom from them.

Proverbs 24 verse 3-6:
Through wisdom a house is built,
And by understanding it is established;
By knowledge the rooms are filled
With all precious and pleasant riches.
A wise man is strong,
Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength;
For by wise counsel you will wage your own war,
And in a multitude of counselors there is safety.

Blonde am I...

" Where am I? "

So I have an embarrassing story to tell..

It was an average wednesday afternoon and I had just finished work.
I was a bit frazzled as I had alot on my mind, but I needed to get petrol.
So I rolled up to my local stomping ground on Tarewa and put some 91 down Tommy Tomatoes throat.
I went to pay and when I returned to my car, I pulled the handle and DOH! Locked, and look, keys in the ignition! It was at that moment I realised I had one choice, and one choice only: Pull the 'I'M JUST A GIRL' card out!
In minuted I had 3 Caltex guys buzzing around my car trying to open it.
Man number one tried to hack the door open with a screwdriver, with my consent, but much to my horror he practically broke my door.
Man number two walked around my car with a distant look on his face pulling at every handle (um, helloooo, I tried that already!)
Man number three was a burly fellow...actually reminding me of Big Foot. He had big hair stomped around quite heavy and had some major ink going on. He stared alot at the situation and made low grunting noises and waved a piece of plastic around.
Eventually, man number one pulled the rubber casing from around my window and managed to squeeze his hand down and flick the lock open...YAY!
So that was my embarrassing story...as I drove away I wave at the 3 and blushed as I saw them still snickering about my blondeness.
I have no spiritual paralel to add to this story...I am just thankful for men.

Daughters of Eve

I was reading Genesis and found something that interested me...

It was while reading about the curses that were laid out after Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

It's what God said to Eve: Genesis 3 vs 16 onwards (NKJV)

To the woman He said:

"I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;

In pain you shall bring forth children.

Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you."

OK, so I get the childbirth pain being a curse..but "Your desire shall be for your husband." ?!?

How is this a bad thing?

I thought about this for a while, and I got to thinking as a woman, how important and crucial it is to have the approval of a male figure in my life. Not only me but women all over the world. We strive to please. To look good. It's like a deep seeded thing. I haven't met a woman yet who doesn't suffer from it! WE LONG to be DESIRED! To be known as beautiful. To know that we are pleasing.

It is a burden, because we all fall short. It's never good enough. We fear failure. That someone, some other woman might take our place. That we might not be adored forever.

So this desire is a deep seeded thing, maybe placed there at the begining of time ( thanks to our sponsors, Adam and Eve!) This is why we need to be close to God, our Father. Our friend and Lover of our soul. If our affections are first and foremost on God and our relationship always growing stronger, we overcome.

It's not easy being a daughter of Eve, is it?! :)

Juice, the fountain of youth

I am not a morning person...and if you are anything like me, you need some sort of swift kick up the jacksie to get moving in the early hours.
So I started juicing. And I haven't looked back!
It's the yummiest juice you will ever taste, and it's like 5+ a day..and it gives the meanest high that coffee can't give!
My personal favourite is Apple, orange, lemon, carrot, pineapple, pear and for extra pazzaz, passion fruit! Yum!
Daddy Tim doesn't know what's about to hit him!
This is the best juice you will taste...ever!

850 watts of goodness

The juice fountain...and from left to right, Pineapple, apple, orange, pear and lemon. Absent is carrot, who was a bit shy of the camera.
I encourage you all to get into juicing, you'll feel better for it, and there are hundreds of different mixes...happy juicing everyone!

Life, oh life!

As a young woman, the words she was about to hear would be shattering.

"I love you, " she gasped for breath, "and I know you are going to make a wonderful wife and mother one day."

That was the moment. That was the punch through the heart. The realisation that she would not have her mother for much longer.

She looked at her father. How was it he could be so strong? She fought back the tears. "I love you too mum."

Life had thrown the most damaging dart. She could hardly breathe, what will she do now?

Sometimes the most horrible things happen, and we are faced with a choice. Turn to God, the only one who can truly comfort and heal, or run far from Him, believing blindly that the world will soothe our pain.

I think the thing people struggle with the most is wanting to understand God. Why does He let bad things happen? Hey I'm a believer, why so much sorrow?

So we look to the Word.

Find me one fairy tail ending in the Bible that didn't have some huge battle, or betrayal or death?!

This life requires a deep faith in God and trust that He has it all under control.

Each person has something amazing to offer this hurting world.

Not only salvation through Jesus, but a genuine love.

That person needs someone to listen..be that listening ear.

She needs support through her grieving...just be there.

He's been abused and needs to know what it is to be truly loved..love him unconditionally.

Are we not called to be God's hands and feet?

It requires more than a passing smile or 'Hi how ya doing?'

Jesus said, " In this world there will be trouble, but behold! I have overcome the world!"

I encourage all of us to step out and help someone this week, because you want to, because God has placed His love inside your heart, because it is now overflowing.

May Jesus always be your treasure, may He always hold your affections.

Life.

The greatest mystery.

Filled with surprises both good and bad. Sometimes more bad than good!

The great thing about life is that we never stop learning, about others , about ourselves and about God.
